HOLD ME WHEN I'M HERE LOVE ME WHEN I'M GONE------------------
It was night time already. Would she even be up still? He had sent her a letter telling her that he would visit her soon. Sesshoumaru stared at the nearly desolate streets. Some villagers were still up, most likely not night guard duty. The male stood there, his eye as usual was uncaring. The humans caught sight of him and as to be expected came up with their weapons. Their little futile swords. Hmph, insects. He stood there, not even bothering to draw his sword. He saw no reason to. These humans were weak. He was amazed they even muster the courage to face him. He knew why they saw him as a threat. It was obvious by his appearance that he was a demon with his ears and marks. Although he had come to this village from time to time, he did not do it frequently. Actually the last time he has done it was over a month. He didn’t exactly talk to them and his visits were never long so he was not surprised that they did not remember him. Especially seeing how he did not remember them either.
”Out of the way.” he ordered as if he had ruled the place. In truth though he did not. This village was in the east, he on the other hand ruled the west. He had actually taken a bit of time out of his way in order to come to this village. Still, he had a subject of his in there. A human girl believe it or not and he was quite determined to see her. He had promised her that he would visit her and Sesshoumaru was a man of his word. It seems the humans though were ignoramuses as they did not back down. No they had lifted his weapon at him. As if such puny little things could even harm him, a daiyoukai. He saw fear in their eyes. He was sure that he would only have to kill one to get them out of the way. It would be such a simple task to grab their neck and crack it. Yet, a very simply task indeed even for a youkai. The men appeared to be quite old. He was surprised to see someone of their age even out here in the first place. Sure he was older than them, by a couple centuries as well but he was a youkai. No, a daiyoukai and therefore age had no effect on him.
”Out of the way.” He had repeated a small hint of annoyance in his way. He was never fond of rebels or humans. They were irksome in his eyes. If only they could sense his yoki. It would make things much simpler. They would sense his power and let him have his way if they were smart. With humans though, he couldn’t be too sure. Especially seeing his half-brother who had human and daiyoukai blood. Even with their father’s blood, his intelligence was quite low which is a shame to their father. His eyes slowly lowered at their weapon. Why would they not move out of their way? He had come here in peace as well which was quite unusual. Usually when he came to a village, it was to kill someone, usually a human. He would have killed them all too but there was one small problem. It was not the fact that his half-brother would be angry. He really couldn’t care less for Inuyasha. The nuisance who tainted their father’s blood. He did not care about the miko that he had chosen for a mate either. She was stronger than most humans but still weak to him. She was more of a support person than a close range fighter. Also, he can easily catch her arrows with his fingers. The monk and the demon slayer did not matter to him either. He rarely ever saw them. Although if he remembered correctly, the demon slayer was Kohaku’s elder sister. That might cause some problems in the future but angering them did not affect this mindset. No, it was Rin. Injuring these humans might but her in future danger. Why? With fewer guards, there would be more chance for her to die and he won’t be able to revive her because he lacked his father’s fang. Although, even if he obtains the fang, he would not be able to revive her. Sure if he was to anger his half-brother and his little group of friends, he knew that they would not lay a finger on Rin. They were not the type of people to do that.
Still he was starting to get annoyed. They were lucky Sesshoumaru had prided himself in his ability to control and keep his emotions at bay. If not, well they would cease to exist. After all, he would not lose any sleep from killing them even if he was an insomniac. He really ever slept, he rarely ever needed to. That was why he rarely ever stayed in his castle. Still he knew that they would not let him through. Perhaps he should just kill one of them. Make an example for those that dare stand in his way. He did not mind that. The sight of these insects were making his eyes sore anyway. Although he will give them one final warning. Slowly raising his two fingers, a smirk graced on his lips, he stared at the group. ”I suggest you remove yourself from my sight.” He told them slowly focusing energy to his two fingers.

And I threw away the life I knew, just to be here beside youNight had fallen and it was quite late, barely anyone stirred in the village except for a select few.One such person sat in a hut just a little ways up a hill in the village, beside her the piece of parchment that had arrived earlier on from Sesshoumaru. The letter had mentioned he would be coming to visit her and that coming from someone such as he,it truly was a honor. She of course had always watched the quarrels between the brothers, nothing but countless fighting and battling with eachother.Though there had been the rare occassions where Sesshoumaru did help out,and she even got to meet Rin the girl who traveled with him. They had bonded quite well, and when Naraku disappeared the lord left Rin in Kaede's village. Standing up she brushed herself off,not wearing her school uniform anymore but outfit a priestess would wear.Kaede had given it to her,at first she didn't want to wear it but soon she accepted it with thanks. This wasn't her first time wearing something like this, there had been a few times where she wore this.A frown spread across her lips as she remembered that Inuyasha had mistaken her for Kikyou, ugh seriously.Sometimes she wondered if that half-demon still had a one track mind, should she want to travel away from the village she would wear her school uniform. It was just more comfortable to run around in,sighing she exited the hut pushing the curtain like door upwards and stepping outside. She couldn't tell the time as she usually would back home,in the fuedal era one didn't simply find a clock and use it.Glancing upwards she could tell it was late in the night, though she was more or less used to staying up late.Kagome has done it when she traveled with the others, when they had camped out in a nearby forest or stayed in a abandoned shack or village somewhere.A older woman who was just coming up back to her hut tapped her on the shoulder,Kagome turned around wondering why the woman was still awake. The old woman mentioned something was going on down at the entrance, the guards would not let a demon man into the village.Groaning she had a feeling who it was, thanking her she hurried down there as fast as she could the lord coming into her sights. "Sesshoumaru don't you dare attack them". She gave him a glare,if he wished for this visit to be peaceful he would have to learn not to threaten others.Of course asking him to do that, would be like asking him to get along with his brother. That of course would never happen, but she didn't want him to cause any trouble in the village.Kaede had already had enough trouble from Inuyasha in the past, she didn't need the burden of his brother as well.Motioning the ones still up to return to their homes, she then glanced back to Sesshoumaru. HOLD ME WHEN I'M HERE LOVE ME WHEN I'M GONE------------------
As Sesshoumaru was about to kill one of them he heard a voice and caught a familiar human scent. "Sesshoumaru don't you dare attack them". Yes, it seems the miko had decided to make her appearance. He slowly lowered his arm back to his side as she told them to go back to their posts. He caught a few glance and some murmurs about why let a demon like him inside. He didn’t make a comment. He simply stared at her. Impudent human, she had actually dared to order him. A human girl. He did not care if she was his brother’s wife and by extension his in law. The thought almost made his eye twitch. In law. He did not like that one bit. To be grouped with her. Why must Inuyasha inherit their father’s taste in humans? It was something more than annoying. She didn’t exactly seem happy about seeing him here or rather unhappy about the fact that he had just killed one of the villagers.
She seemed to have discarded the strange outfit for a miko robe. How fitting. Her eyes glaring at him. He stared back unaffected. Many people have glared at him, humans and youkais alike and so she was no different in his eyes. Why should he fear her? He had no reason to. She was weaker than him. He would outlive her. He could easily kill her at this spot. He could kill the villagers if he had wanted to. Sure it would take time but he had the strength to. Of course the problem would be the consequences. Rin would not be happy. She had actually developed a bond with the miko. He never understood why though. She was rude and ungraceful. There was nothing redeeming about her. He had heard that she could purify the shikon no tama but he had no interest in it and therefore she didn’t amount to anything. She was also loud, far more trouble than she was worth. He could see how fitting she was with his brother. They both have a lot in common, far too much for his taste even. She was also not good with greetings. To dare glare at him. Inuyasha needed to teach his mate on how to deal with royalty. Of course he doubt that would ever happen. His brother didn’t know how to treat those that are obviously above him.
”Miko is Rin awake right now?” he inquired ignoring her earlier statement. It was night time right now so he was unsure. Then again this was Rin. She had stayed up late many times before to take care of Ah-Un or to talk to Jaken and him. She had stayed up late many times before only to sleep in the morning. Of course that was when he would bring her to his pet dragon and have it carry her. He was not exactly the patient despite his appearance. Now though he was not sure. She lived in a human village taken care of by the villagers, namely the chief, his brother, the monk, the demon slayer and the miko that was right in front of him. He did not thank her for taking care of what was his.He saw no reason to concern himself with her. She never interested him. He did not even know her name. He had heard his brother call out to her many times but never truly paid attention. She was a human and therefore and insect in his eyes whether or not they were in laws did not matter. All that mattered was her race. His eyes as usual was calm, his voice smooth. He did not catch Rin’s scent though. There were too many humans that it was quite hard to distinguish or else he would have searched for her, himself. Quickly though he decided to rephrase his question. ”Where is Rin?”

It was late at night and she was not in the mood to start with the formalities. So what if she was Inuyasha's soon to be wife,or wife.Glancing to the people who went back to their posts and to their huts, she could also hear their protests of why let a demon like Sesshoumaru into the village.Kagome didn't exactly like the idea that this was her brother-in-law,and what would he have thought about having Kikyou as a sister-in-law.Seeing the look she was getting from Sesshoumaru, the miko knew he didn't like the fact she had ordered him to stand down from attacking. She just didn't want bloodshed, those guards had everyright to stand at their posts and protect this village from demons.
She pulled out the letter he had written, this was the reason he was here was it not.Killing innocent people wasn't in the writing, and true she was treading on thin ice right at the moment especially with telling him what to do.Kagome could see he had noticed she was not in her usual attire, his face remained unchanged so she had no idea what he was thinking. And if he wanted to he could kill her right here on the spot, which is why she would need to watch her words.Guess a simple sorry wouldn't suffice to him now would it,and if he did attack,Rin would not take kindly to that. She looked up to Sesshoumaru, the young girl had traveled with him and knew how her lord acted and what he was like.Speaking of Rin,she quirked a brow at the way he asked his question.Miko that was a name given to girls like her,she was used to being called that.
"No she's sleeping".
Rin was still young and had to sleep,Kagome did tell her that Sesshoumaru was coming to visit but she conked out trying to stay up.From the little time she had known Rin,there was still alot of things she didn't know about her. With all the different scents floating about the village,he was probably having a hard time figuring out where Rin was.Kagome had left her with Kaede, and then fell asleep.Turning she started to head back up,taking him to Kaede's hut to let him see that Rin was alright. HOLD ME WHEN I'M HERE LOVE ME WHEN I'M GONE------------------
Sesshoumaru watched her nod, part of him happy with the answer while the other was disappointed. There had been three reasons he had left Rin in their care. One was that it was dangerous for her to stay with him, second was the fact that she was human and so it would only make sense for her to be among her kind, no matter how rotten they can be, and the third was a bet. Well it was not a direct gamble per say but rather a silent one. Kaede had in a way made a suggestion along with the miko to him. To let Rin stay. At first he had said no, he saw no reason to. She was safe with him, she was better with him, he could keep him out of trouble, he had done it for so long. Even more was why let her be with those rotten humans? They had hit her, neglected her and could not raise her well. To let her be among their kind, even if she was one of them herself. She had been different. She was not scared of demons, she did not kill them, instead she had been innocent and open minded. Even though demons have tried to kill her, she had never been scared. He never understood why but had admired that trait of hers. It was unique, she was not ignorant, not with the life she have had. Yet it seem they have silently challenged him. That Rin would one day decided who she would want to stay with, the humans who were her kin or the demon who had resurrected her. When he had accepted the challenge, he knew that she would stay by his side. She had been loyal to him. Yet, slowly he noticed that she seemed happy amongst the humans. He did not panic though, part of him still thinking she would choose him. Why would she not?
Of course he had never told her about the bet, he had just told her to stay and she had agreed. She had listened to his command without question like she always had. Part of the daiyoukai could not help but wonder now though. Who would she choose? She had more people to talk to here. More people to relate to and she was not attacked by youkais as much. Actually this was the only village he had seen where the two race actually got along or at least as close as they can. He saw sure that there might had been some fights seeing how the humans had blocked his path. He had been ready to kill them as well. Although at least now he did not have to dirty his claws with their wretched blood. Of course he could have used the bakusaiga but then it would have dulled the blade. The blade that he had created. The blade he had created with his own power. The male stared down at her for a moment as there was silence between them only for it to be broken by her question.
"If you don't mind me asking Lord Sesshoumaru, have you heard anything about this new threat that has appeared".
It seems she had dropped the foolish idea of the two acting as a family and calling him oni-san. His amber orb had almost twitched at that thought. Just almost though. The new threat huh? He had heard about it from surrounding villages and scared demons who have come crawling to him. Did he believe it? No, not at all. The dead coming back because of a witch? There was no logic. Why wait now? Why three years after Naraku’s death? Why give them a rest? If she was to wait, she should have attacked him right after they destroyed the shikon no tama. There had also been the question of what her goal was. There was no information about her besides her ability to resurrect the dead. He had heard that humans have been practicing that for quite a long time now. If he remembered right, the miko that looked similar to the one in front of him had been the product of such art.Of course she had been the only one and with tenseiga in his hands, there was no method to revive the dead as he no longer truly used that sword. At least that he knew of. To revive the dead. To play god huh? ”Yes. A witch from the rumors but I have yet to encounter her.” He informed her. ”I. assume you have yet to encounter her as well?” It was more of a statement than a question really. His amber orbs looking almost bored but there was a flick of interest. A with that can revive the dead. The thought itself had been impossible. Although there were many methods to revive the dead, one cannot constantly revive whoever they want. He had learned that lesson quite well.

Kagome accepted the nod,it was better then not getting any of response. If he had come here by himself to check up on Rin,where did he leave that little strange goblin that followed him. What was his name again,Jaken that was it.She thought that he always followed his lord around like a trained puppy, guess he had told him to stay somewhere nearby. It was late and snapping at Sesshoumaru like that,no ordering him like that was something she didn't mean to do.But could he blame her, unlike demons who could probably stay up till the sun peeked over the horizon she wasn't like that. All humans needed sleep,no matter if it was just a couple of hours compared to alot of hours. When she pulled the letter from her robes, she knew that this letter was meant for only Rin to read. The little girl had been so excited that he was coming, that she had showed this miko earlier and had gone off to get some flowers.
Kagome had helped gather the flowers, and they spents hours making a small bouquet and a flower ring. She had a feeling the letter wasn't for her,and if Inuyasha had seen it he would have probably said some smug remark and went off to brood in some tree.Or take on his brother in a stand off, yeah the second one would sound more like Inuyasha. The only reason he would brood is if she,or one of the others said something to rub him the wrong way.As she put the letter away and turned to lead him up to Kaede's hut,the miko could tell there were eyes on them from the villagers who peeked out from their huts.Upon entering she stepped aside to let Sesshoumaru see Rin,who was of course still asleep on a bed.
Kaede had made sure to take very good care of her,and of course she helped as well.Sometimes she wished she had a little sister, instead of her annoying brother Souta but you can choose your friends and not your relatives. When he left the hut,she followed quietly as to not wake Rin up.Not surprised by his question, she gave a small nod.The young girl seemed to do quite well with fitting in with the other villagers, and Sango often visited with Kohaku.Though at first Rin did have quite a hard time making friends, but with her help and Kaede she now fit in.
"If you don't mind me asking Lord Sesshoumaru, have you heard anything about this new threat that has appeared".
She kept her voice in a low whisper, not wanting anyone to hear. For some strange reason she felt uneasy, like there was a calm before a storm. And him being a great demon prince,he must know a little more then her if anything. As if Naraku was not bad enough, now with something new stirring she was curious on what they would have to face. When Sesshoumaru had first brought Rin to the village, she herself wondered why he was so eager to leave her in the care of her own kind. Was it that he wanted her to bond with humans again, since the only other human she ever interacted with had been Kohaku and of course the short time she had been with herself and the group when she and Jaken got seperated from their lord.Jaken could be quite annoying, but Kagome would never say such a thing aloud to the Daiyoukai standing beside her. There was a time to speak and a time to hold one's tongue, unless of course the great lord didn't mind a human telling him his follower is annoying and complains too much about things. If there ever came a time for Rin to choose whom she wanted to stay with,a gut feeling told this miko that she would probably choose to be with Sesshoumaru. With all the stories the little girl did manage to tell Kagome, she got the feeling he really wasn't that much of a bad guy.....just someone with a bad attitude and a temper if you get him angry.
Kagome felt Sesshoumaru's eyes upon her,as she slowly glanced up to him. There was just a hint of a smile on her lips, but it was barely noticeable.Because she was with Inuyasha, and knowing she wanted to spend the rest of her life with the half demon she would call Sesshoumaru oni-san.The Daiyoukai didn't seem to like that very much, and she highly doubted she would ever get along very well with the older brother. But they seemed to be having a nice calm peaceful conversation right now,and when she had asked her question she had addressed him as Lord Sesshoumaru. And why must he keep calling her miko,of all the times Inuyasha had ever yelled her name out in battles to stay back or help him.Didn't Sesshoumaru even bother to listen, nope knowing him he just didn't want to acknowledge her or pay her any mind. She took her eyes off the elder brother, and stared straight ahead once more, listening as he answered her question.
A witch he says,he had not ecountered her and neither has she.But this could now help her wonder whom this might be,Kagome assumed that they must have killed Naraku in the battle they had.And since it has only been six months.....no it has been longer then that hasn't it,now she had heard a few rumors floating around as she has traveled a few times away from the village.People saying that the dead have risen, that some great demons have been spotted roaming the lands and causing trouble everywhere. This was the reason why she was curious, and unknown to anyone she has been sensing strange shards.Although she hasn't obtained any,it was a mystery to her why she could sense them when the shikon no tama had been put back together.
"I haven't encountered this witch, but i'm curious to know why she is here. What is her purpose, and if the rumors I have been hearing are true?". [/size]

HOLD ME WHEN I'M HERE LOVE ME WHEN I'M GONE------------------
Sesshoumaru had almost tilted his head as he spotted her lips curl up even if it was so small. He had always been observant, especially with how many youkais would want to kill him at times. Those that actually lured in by his youki because of what his head would promise them. Of course they had always failed and died. He was out of their reach. They cannot grasp his position, his power. He was like the moon and they were the idiotic monkeys always trying to gain foot only to fail. Never to obtain the power and always envying its light. Yet unlike the moon, the daiyoukai was not someone who would light up the night to guide them. No, he killed anyone who dare reach for him, dare search for him. After all, when someone is in their position, one can never be too careful.
Still he was curious to why she had chosen to smile at that time. He did not question it though and quickly dispel his curiosity like he has done with many of his emotions. Still the subject moved on as she asked him about the new threat. The supposedly new threat that is. Although he was a bit cautious about it. At first it started out as a small rumor but now it was starting to become like wild fire. Of course it might just be mass hysteria. That has happened before. "I haven't encountered this witch, but i'm curious to know why she is here. What is her purpose, and if the rumors I have been hearing are true?". It seems she was thinking along the same as he was. The daiyoukai was not sure if he should be content or disappointed within himself to have a common thought with a human. His amber orb slowly blinked as he processed her words one more time. If she was curious then why not discover the rumor and leave this village herself? Although if she was to do that, Inuyasha would most likely come as well. He was fond with the miko choosing her as his mate. Of course if that was to happen, he would take Rin back with him and postpone the training as the elder had put it. He could not trust her to the humans, not without someone he knew was worthy enough. Someone that was on par or rather as close as they can to his stature.
”Why not discover it for yourself, miko?” he asked. It would be good to have the miko leave. He did not know why though. Without Rin the journey around the west had not only gone quicker as they did not have to such for nutrition as much but also because they do not need as much sleep as a human did and he did not have to defend her. Still it had also gone quiet. Could he have missed her voice? No, that cannot be it. He had gone through centuries on quiet journeys and was actually fond of it. He had only traveled with her for months but yet he found himself at times hearing her voice. Seeing her hand flowers to him. Had he missed that? Was it simply his imagination? He could not comprehend this emotion. It had plagued him every once in a while. Usually he would be able to dispel it but it was getting harder by the day. Of course he would not ask the girl next to him of this emotion. He would never lower himself to ask for a human help in anything even if it was emotions which was most likely their specialty.
”It is always better to see something with your own eyes” he told her. That was how the male had lived. He would never believe anyone’s words. Not without founding out for himself.

Kagome did have thoughts about leaving the village, she wanted to know more about this witch. The miko also wanted to understand why she was still sensing shards, even though these ones had a different feeling to them. They didn't hold the power that the original jewel has and gave off a different sense, and yet she still hadn't brought up that detail to anyone even Inuyasha. She knew Rin would be safe in the village if she and Inuyasha went off to find out more about this witch,it was just Sesshoumaru.Kagome couldn't read minds, nor could she ever read the expression on the daiyoukai's face since it pretty much remained the same.Hearing his suggestion she looked to the ground,of course she would go out and discover it for herself.
But did he forget that it was the middle of the night,if she was going to do any discovering it would be in the morning.Even so she would have to discuss this with Inuyasha,if he agreed with her about going to find out more about this witch then she would leave the village. As for Rin if Sesshoumaru felt like he couldn't trust Kaede and the other villagers,he could take her back with him.But she knew the elder would take good care of the young girl, and make sure no harm would come to her.Would it be so bad if he could just trust humans for once, especially the ones here.Turning her face away she gave a small yawn, she was tired and wanted to sleep.Giving a small nod to his question, she quickly stopped yawning.
"I suppose your right".
She didn't want to be rude, but since it seemed to be silent now with very little movement in the village perhaps they could end the conversation for the night. He could see that Rin was alright and fast asleep, she was safe and not hurt or injured. She began to walk back to her hut, hopefully he would not cause any trouble on his way back out of the village. That is if he did leave,or was he going to stay here all night waiting for Rin to wake up in the morning.
